1. Why should we complete the CEO, board chair, and stakeholder reviews?

In addition to giving you valuable feedback – both on the content of your Charting Impact Report and on your organization’s direction and progress – these three reviews provide the public with an added level of validation for this self-reported information. These reviews increase confidence that the information is credible, represents the views of your leadership, and accurately speaks to your organization’s accomplishments.

2. How do we complete the CEO review?

The CEO review ensures that your organization’s chief executive has validated your Charting Impact Report. Invite your president, CEO, or executive director to review your final Charting Impact Report, then check the corresponding box on the “Review and Submit” page and press “Submit.” A statement certifying that your CEO has completed the review will then appear on your published report.

3. How do we complete the board chair review?

The board chair review ensures that your organization’s chief governing officer has validated the content of your Charting Impact Report.  Invite your board chair to review your final Charting Impact Report, and then check the corresponding box on the “Review and Submit” page and press “Submit.”  A statement certifying that your board chair has completed the review will then appear on your published report.

4. How do we complete the stakeholder review?

The stakeholder review invites individuals affiliated with, but not directly employed by, your organization to validate the content of your Charting Impact Report. Begin by entering the email addresses of your stakeholders on the “Review and Submit” page of the interface. Those people will receive an email inviting them to log in to Charting Impact, where they can access your Charting Impact Report and a 5-minute questionnaire.

These stakeholders may include staff at partner organizations, your donors or volunteers, or individuals who have benefited from your services. They should not be your staff or board members. After three or more of your stakeholders have completed the questionnaire, your published Charting Impact Report will display a “Stakeholder Reviewed” icon.

5. Where can I view the responses from my stakeholders?

The anonymous aggregated results from your stakeholders will be available for your review on the “Start” page, after you log in, under the “Report History” button. They are not available to the public.

6. Can people complete these reviews before we have made our report public?

Yes. Once you have entered your organization’s answers to the five questions, you can download a “Preview” version of your report to share with your CEO and board chair.  Your stakeholder email addresses can also be added at this point.

7. Can people complete these reviews after I have published my report?

Yes.  After you have pressed “Submit” to publish your report, you can return to the “Review and Submit” page of your current report to check the CEO and board chair review boxes or to add stakeholder email addresses. To access this page, click “Update Report” after you log in.  Once you have checked the CEO or board chair review box, be sure to press “Submit” again to update your published report with the corresponding statement.

8. I received an email asking me to complete a stakeholder review. How do I do that?

To review an organization’s report and respond to the 5-minute questionnaire, you will need to log in using a GuideStar account associated with the email address the requesting organization provided. If you do not already have a GuideStar account, you can create one for free here.  Be sure to use the same email address the organization provided in order to access its Charting Impact Report.

If you already have a GuideStar account and do not see the organization’s Charting Impact Report when you log in to Charting Impact, it may be that the organization submitted a different email address for you or has otherwise changed their stakeholder review settings. Please check with your contact at that organization to ensure your invitation goes to the correct email address.
